Review of the 39th World Ophthalmology Congress in Vancouver

A special highlight for the SAVIR Center was Prof. Dr. Bernhard Sabel’s participation in the 39th World Ophthalmology Congress 2024 in Vancouver. Prof. Sabel, former Vice President of the International Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ISLRR), was elected as an official delegate and represented the ISLRR at the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO), the global organization of all national ophthalmology associations. Together with ICO President Dr. Neeru Gupta, he actively participated in the congress events and contributed to the global discussion on innovations in ophthalmology.

The congress, which took place from August 16-19, 2024, offered an outstanding scientific program aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills in general ophthalmology as well as in various specialties through symposia, dedicated courses and skill-building workshops. Groundbreaking research findings and cutting-edge medical and surgical advances took center stage.
